My approach
I listen warmly and carefully, intervene tactfully, and ultimately aim to help you feel understood and, in return, understand yourself.

Psychotherapy research has demonstrated that the most critical factor determining successful outcomes in your therapy is building a trusting relationship with your therapist. We will build a trusting relationship. If we can’t, I will gladly refer you to someone who might better help you establish this with them. Through more than 45 years of clinical work, as well as my doctoral studies and research work, I’ve established a solid foundation in psychotherapeutic methods and tools and contributed to the field of psychoanalysis.

I offer my clients the latest and most relevant therapeutic tools that will be most helpful in each situation. At the same time, I aim to build our therapeutic relationship one session at a time through a warm, gentle, and compassionate approach.

I understand that emotional distress is complex and not fun, and I know that learning to be more proactive instead of reactive takes commitment and patience. I’m passionate and dedicated because I have witnessed how people find relief from distressing emotions and ultimately achieve the balance in life they’re seeking.
